Building a Skeleton Canoe

This was my senior design project that I proposed to faculty. The project was inspired by the work done by a team at ETH Zürich, where they used topology optimization and 3D-printing to cast a lightweight concrete canoe structure.

In about four months, my team and I worked to understand the feasibility of printing thin wall structures, assembling the structures into a large concrete mold, and then casting the parts using commercial concrete.
